About GVAA

The Goleta Valley Art Association brings works by local artists to its community. GVAA has over 600 members exhibiting artwork in a variety of media. Please come to visit our shows and critiques listed on the Show Schedule page.

Our History

A small group of artists, guided by Warren Fuller, started meeting in March 1963 and showing their artwork at a Goleta bank. Douglas Parshall was elected as the first president.

From its first meeting place in the office of the Goleta Valley Chamber of Commerce to its present day site at the Goleta Valley Public Library, the Association has grown from 16 members to over 200 members.

The Association continues to bring together people with an interest in art.  Through monthly exhibits and critiques at the Goleta Valley Public Library, shows at the Hutton buildings, Cabrillo Pavilion Arts Center, and outdoor venues of the Stow House and the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden, the Association shares its love of art with the community.
